Inclusion Quality Mark Award

We have been awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Inclusive School Award, recognising our unwavering commitment to inclusive education.

What is the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM)?

The IQM Award is a nationally recognised accreditation that celebrates schools across the UK for their dedication to inclusive practice. It highlights a school’s commitment to ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

There are three levels of recognition:

1. IQM Inclusive School Award – for schools demonstrating strong inclusive values.
2. IQM Centre of Excellence Award – for schools that continue to grow and collaborate with others.
3. IQM Flagship School Award – for schools leading the way in inclusive education.

Our Journey to Excellence

On 9th May 2025, Harlescott Junior School underwent a rigorous assessment involving pupils, parents, staff, governors, and leaders from both schools. It was heartwarming to see our entire school community come together to celebrate the strength of our inclusive provision.

We were honoured to receive the IQM Inclusive School Award, and even more delighted to be recommended for the Centre of Excellence Award. Following a detailed action plan led by our Inclusion Leader, we achieved Centre of Excellence status as well!

Our assessor, Mr Kitching, captured the spirit of our school beautifully in his final report:

“It was abundantly clear that Harlescott Junior School is a truly special community built on compassion, warmth and care. At its heart, the school is driven by an unwavering commitment to providing a highly inclusive environment that enables every pupil to fulfil their potential and thrive.”

This recognition allows our staff to collaborate with a network of professional educators, sharing best practices and learning from one another to further enhance our inclusive approach.

Why This Matters

Inclusive practice is a key driver at Haughmond Schools. This award reflects our deep commitment to supporting every child and family on their educational journey. The IQM report highlights the many ways we nurture and empower our pupils, sending a clear message:
